Gracie's first birthday
For my cousin's first birthday which was in May of 2010, my Aunt asked me to decorate cupcakes she had already made which were chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and lemon. I decorated the cupcakes pretty basically according to their flavor cake. Chocolate got chocolate frosting, strawberry got strawberry frosting, same with lemon and the white cupcakes. We sprinkled the cupcakes and created our own picks to put into the cupcakes. Since the theme was Candy Shop, the picks had little stickers of candy. They really looked cute once they were on the cupcake towers.

Ice cream cone cupcakes
All you need for this is store bought ice cream cones, cake batter (I used a box cake batter from the store), and cream cheese frosting, or any frosting you want. If you want them to look like ice cream cones, white icing is better to use. Then you take the cones and place each cone in a cupcake slot on the cupcake pan, then I put the batter into the cones. I filled them about 1/2 to 3/4 full, but at 3/4 full they were overflowing so 1/2 should be good. Then put them in the oven for the directed time. Once they cool then you can frost them to look like soft serve. :) They're yummy and they're cute!
Homemade chocolate cake with homemade buttercream frosting
For this cake, it was different for me, but I loved how it turned out. I made the cake and icing from scratch, which I've never done at home before and it turned out great. This is the recipe I used for the chocolate cake: http://www.hersheys.com/recipes/184/HERSHEY'S%20%22PERFECTLY%20CHOCOLATE%22%20Chocolate%20Cake.aspx and this is the recipe I used for the buttercream frosting: http://www.ciaculinaryintelligence.com/2007/05/a-cupcake-bouquet-for-moms-special-day.html . The cake turned out moist and went really well with the buttercream frosting. I would definitely reccomend trying this recipe!
It's A Girl!
I was really excited to do this cake. This was my first time doing a marble cake. Marble cakes, I learned are really simple. All you do is pour in one batter then alittle bit at a time of the other batter. For me I did vanilla batter, then poured the choclate in and swirled it around with the end of a wooden spoon. This cake was for my mom's co-worker, who was having a baby girl.
